On April 6, Chairman of the Azerbaijan State Committee for Work with Diaspora Fuad Muradov met in Istanbul with representatives of the Azerbaijani community living in Turkey.

As Day.Az reports, before the meeting, the Association of Azerbaijani Scientists Living in Turkey was established at the Federation of Turkish-Azerbaijani Associations (TADEF).

At the event, organized by the State Committee for Work with Diaspora together with TADEF, the national anthems of Azerbaijan and Turkey were first played, the memory of the great leaders of the two fraternal countries Heydar Aliyev and Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, as well as martyrs were honored.

Parviz Mammadzadeh, advisor to the chairman of TADEF, who spoke at the meeting, noted that the charter and logo of the newly created association had been developed, and temporary board members had been identified.

It was reported that a congress of Turkish scientists will be held in the near future, at which a new composition of the association’s board will be approved.

Stressing that the association will play an important role in scientific coverage of certain problems, the adviser also informed about the activities of the federation.

Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Diaspora Fuad Muradov recalled that Azerbaijanis living abroad took an active part in voting in the presidential elections in Azerbaijan, held on February 7 this year.

Fuad Muradov said that the association created today will further deepen ties between the two countries and expand scientific activities. He said that the House of Azerbaijan “Shusha” will open on April 7 in the Turkish city of Kayseri.

Speaking about the construction and reconstruction work carried out by our state in the territories liberated from occupation, Fuad Muradov said that representatives of the diaspora will visit Khankendi in the near future.

The chairman of the committee brought to the attention of the participants a report on the activities of the structure he heads.

Then representatives of Azerbaijani science and culture living in Turkey exchanged opinions and proposals.

As part of the event, Turkish cardiologist, professor Ertan Demirtas, who took an active part in the treatment of national leader Heydar Aliyev, advisor to the chairman of TADEF Parviz Mammadzade and journalist Sevil Nuriyeva were awarded the anniversary medal “100th anniversary of Heydar Aliyev (1923-2023)”, and a professor at Çukurova University in Turkey, the artist Ilham Enveroglu received the Tereggi medal.

Professors Elshan Veli and Sayyad Kochahan, as well as the chairmen of a number of Azerbaijani associations operating in Turkey, were awarded with gratitude “For active work in the field of diaspora.”

After the event, Fuad Muradov met with our compatriots studying and working in the medical field in Turkey.
