A military force and another security force to secure Ras Jadeer.. Al-Dabaiba and Al-Nimroush reject any “regional disputes”

The head of the National Unity Government, Abdul Hamid Al-Dabaiba, stressed that the main goal of the recently formed force to secure the Ras Ijdir port is to extend security at the gate away from political and tribal tensions.

In a meeting with Assistant Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General Salah Al-Namroush, Al-Dabaiba called on municipalities and notables to support the state and stand with it in extending its influence in all outlets without exception.

Earlier today, Assistant Chief of General Staff Salah Al-Namroush said that the mission of the force composed of military brigades affiliated with the Libyan army is to establish security at the Ras Jadir border crossing with Tunisia, stressing that it does not carry any political or tribal tensions.

In statements to Libya Al-Ahrar, Al-Namroush denied what was being said about the presence of a military buildup with the aim of imposing a specific formation by force of arms at the crossing.

The Assistant Chief of Staff added that the force was formed to extinguish any fuse that threatens social peace, in addition to ensuring the smooth return of crossing movement and securing all travelers.

Al-Namroush called on all regions and municipalities to move away from regionalism and tribalism, and to support the military force formed by the Chief of Staff to complete all its work.

Al-Namroush pointed out that the military force will hand over the crossing to the security services and support them to stop smuggling and chaos from outlaw parties, he said.

In the same regard, the Minister of Interior in charge of the unity government, Imad Mustafa Trabelsi, issued a decision to form a joint security room to monitor and combat irregular migration and the smuggling of fuel, drugs, psychotropic substances, and goods, in the border region with Tunisia, extending from the sea in the north to the borders of the Al-Assa region in the south.

The Chamber was also entrusted with the tasks of supporting the security services and security directorates located from Sabratha to the Tunisian border, conducting joint patrols and security positions, and establishing gates in the aforementioned area.

According to the decision, the Chamber is working to intensify the security presence on the coastal road a sufficient distance before reaching the Ras Jadeer port.

The Chamber is working to implement the decision of the Minister of Economy regarding banning the re-export of goods and products, in addition to preventing any armed vehicles or smuggled materials from reaching the port, according to the decision.

The Chief of Staff had previously decided to form a force of seven brigades (555th Infantry Brigade, 444th Combat Brigade, 103rd Infantry Battalion, 111th Majhfal Brigade, 51st Infantry Brigade, 52nd Infantry Brigade, and 62nd Infantry Brigade), against the backdrop of the tension witnessed at the outlet.
