The State Commission for Commodity Exchanges and Markets (DKSBT) reports a minimal decrease in the prices of some basic foodstuffs, fruits and vegetables on the stock exchanges in the country this week in its weekly bulletin.

The market price index (PIC), which reflects the movement of wholesale food prices in our country, fell by 0.15 percent to 2,044 points during the week. Last week the ITC was at the level of 2.047 points. The base level of the ITC – 1,000 points – is from 2005.

Cucumbers are becoming more expensive, with imported ones increasing by 0.4 percent to BGN 2.44 per kilogram, and greenhouse cucumbers by 4.8 percent to BGN 2.82 per kilogram. However, the price of greenhouse tomatoes is lower – by 5.4 percent to BGN 2.09 per kilogram, as well as that of green pepper – by 2.6 percent to BGN 2.65 per kilogram.

Potatoes became cheaper by 4.2 percent to BGN 1.13 per kilogram, and carrots by 1.6 percent to BGN 1.21 per kilogram. The price of ripe onions is also down by 4 percent to BGN 1.19 per kilogram, while that of cabbage is up by 4.9 percent to BGN 0.86 per kilogram, BTA reports.

Imported apples became cheaper by 2.6 percent and were sold at BGN 1.90 per kilogram. The price of lemons jumped by 4.4 percent to BGN 2.86 per kilogram, and bananas by 0.7 percent to BGN 2.77 per kilogram. Peaches rose in price by 4.2 percent to BGN 2.48 per kilogram, and apricots by 1.8 percent to BGN 2.78 per kilogram.

Cow cheese fell by 0.6 percent to BGN 10.86 per kilogram, and “Vitosha” cheese – by 0.2 percent to BGN 17.20 per kilogram.

The price of yogurt (3 and over 3 percent fat content) increased by 5.1 percent and it is bought at BGN 1.23 for a bucket of 400 grams, while that of fresh milk (3 percent fat content) fell by 0. 4 percent to BGN 2.22 per liter.

Chicken meat became cheaper by 2.5 percent and is available at BGN 6.73 per kilogram, while eggs (size M) increased in price by 3.7 percent and are traded at BGN 0.28 per piece wholesale.

The price of rice fell by 1.8 percent to BGN 3.21 per kilogram, and that of lentils rose by 1.6 percent to BGN 4.35 per kilogram. Ripe beans rose in price by 1.2 percent to BGN 4.18 per kilogram.

Sugar also saw a price increase of 4.1 percent and traded at BGN 2.03 per kilogram, while oil fell by 2.4 percent to BGN 2.81 per liter. The price of type 500 flour fell by 1.6 percent to BGN 1.24 per kilogram, and that of cow butter (125 gram package) by 4.1 percent to BGN 2.60 per unit.
