The case against the basketball star was closed recently, but according to the Tennessee police records obtained by TMZ, the 17-year-old boy told investigators that he played basketball with Morant, until a verbal confrontation between them escalated into physical violence – when, according to the minor, Morant “accidentally threw “The ball in front of him. Immediately after that, Morant approached him, put his chin on his shoulder and asked another person who was with them “Should I do this to him?”, and even before a response was heard the basketball star punched him and knocked him to the floor.

After that, the young man claimed, he was beaten by another person who was there and joined Morant who did not allow him to get up from the ground. The police investigators stated in the report that the boy did indeed suffer from beatings and swelling in his head.

Also according to the publication in TMZ, Morant did not deny that he hit the boy, but clarified that he acted in self-defense because the boy threw the ball at him and then “began approaching him as if he wanted to fight.” Morant also confirmed the involvement of another person in the fight and added that the boy “threatened to burn down his house” and thus caused fear among himself and his family.

After several weeks of investigation, the district attorney chose not to prosecute Morant and the case was closed, however, a lawsuit was filed against Morant and his friend Devonta Pak, and at this point it is not clear what the prosecutor’s demands are.
