The Head of State, who wants to be a model in the agricultural revolution in Burundi, has drilled boreholes to obtain water, and uses watering cans to irrigate his fields during the dry season. To be able to produce a lot and with few resources, the President of the Republic is currently seeking to switch to mechanized agriculture. However, the Head of State has agricultural machines and tools at his disposal such as wheel hoes, manual hoes, planters and transplanters which, although manual, significantly reduce the number of workers and the duration of the work. .

On this same farm in Bugendana, Prosper Nsengiyumva, responsible for monitoring tomatoes grown in greenhouses on 9 acres during this dry season, indicates that this technique is very advantageous with regard to the production and protection of this crop against climatic hazards. This agricultural technician specifies that this tomato field which extends over 9 acres will be able to produce at least 50 tonnes of tomatoes. He also revealed that the Head of State has a project to transform these fruit tomatoes into tomatoes that can be stored in boxes.

And on Murayi hill in the commune of Giheta, the Head of State also breeds cattle, goats and sheep and intensively cultivates corn and squash.

On this same site, the President of the Republic began the process of producing biogas from dung, a methane gas which will be used for cooking and which will also power generators to produce electricity. This innovation will have a triple advantage, in particular that of limiting deforestation and protecting the environment, that of providing energy for cooking as well as the provision of electric lighting.

It should be noted that this gas can also be sold to anyone who wants to use it.
