A commemorative sign to the victims of the genocide of the Belarusian people will appear in Gomla, writes the “Zerkalo” portal.
The state portal “Gomelskaya Pravda” reported that the place for the installation of the sculpture was put up for public discussion. As noted by the Gomel edition “Flagstock”, they decided to consider a poll with two options in the Telegram channel of the head of the Gomel City Executive Committee as a discussion. “By the way, the place for installing the sculpture was put up for public discussion, in which more than 1,200 people took part. Initially, two options were identified – both in the area of the Uprising Square. Most of those who voted preferred the square to the tank,” Gomelskaya Pravda reports.
Public discussion is an official procedure, the order of which is determined by law. But the propagandists called this term an ordinary poll conducted by the chairman of the Gomel City Executive Committee, Pryvalov, in his Telegram channel, “Flagshtok” notes.
For the “discussion”, only two answer options were presented, without visualizations. As for the project of reconstruction of the square, in which the monument will be installed, it was also not submitted to public discussion, reports “Flagstock”. And, judging by the information of the newspaper, the officials plan to avoid the official procedure.
On the website of the city executive committee, there are no public discussions related to the memory of the victims of the Second World War.
The project for the reconstruction of the square was developed by the “Gomel Citizen Project” institute. Officials do not disclose the price. However, it is known that more than 127,000 rubles will be spent only on the reconstruction of the heating line that will pass through the Uprising Square.
