A motorcyclist was injured in a collision with a car on the outskirts of Vilnius, the accident caused a traffic jam

Report of an accident on Molėtė pl. in the beginning, the helpline was received around 6 p.m. 07 min. It was reported that in the section of the road between Santara st. and Skersinė st. a motorcycle and a Toyota passenger car collided. According to the report, a motorcyclist was injured in the accident and needs medical attention.

Emergency medical personnel arrived at the scene of the accident and took the motorcyclist to the hospital. He is all bruised, a suspected broken arm.

In the meantime, police officers began to clarify the circumstances of the accident. For now, it is clear that the motorcycle hit the rear of the car. However, it happened due to the rider’s own fault or the accident was caused by the car driver – it will become clear during the investigation.

After the impact, the motorcycle fell directly onto the double dividing line. Half of the motorcycle remained on one side of the road, the other half on the other. Therefore, the accident caused a traffic jam on the way out of the city.

Towards the city, the motorcycle disturbed the traffic in the second traffic lane, but due to the small traffic flow, there was no congestion here.

The incident is under investigation.
