The ex-father-in-law of a Russian police officer who shot and killed his wife has claimed that his murderous ex-son-in-law faked his death after being released from prison to fight in Ukraine. He was sentenced to 15 years in prison for killing his ex-wife, but was released from prison because of his “shooting skills”

A brutal killer released from prison to fight for Putin in his war in Ukraine and reported dead faked his own death to avoid facing his murderous past, his former father-in-law claims. Police officer Sergei Kadetsky, 41, ambushed his ex-wife and shot her in a sniper-style shooting in 2017.

He was sentenced to 15 years in prison for killing his ex-wife, Yulia Donchik, but was released after being recruited by the Russian army for his “shooting skills”. Last week it was reported that Kadetzky was killed in the war and was posthumously awarded a medal of valor by pro-Russian representatives in the occupied Luhansk province.

However, there is a new twist in the plot, Julia’s father claims that his ex-son-in-law faked his death at the front. Vladimir Savitsov, who was also shot by Kadetzky, and as a result injured his hand and shoulder, said: “I understand that the homeland must be defended and there were legions of criminals during World War II, but I am outraged by the fact that Kadetzky, after serving only five years in prison, was given a chance to win his freedom “.

“I find it unfair that criminals who are guilty of crimes like killing my daughter get such an opportunity.” He said: “I don’t believe he is dead, he is alive and well, he served six months since May, so his sentence was reduced and he is not criminally responsible, and he owes our family four million rubles ($70,000) as unpaid compensation.”

Soitsov’s wife, Ludmila, Yulia’s mother, died last year at the age of 60, having never recovered from her daughter’s murder. “I would like to be happy about his death but I can’t,” he said. Kadetzky was dismissed from the police in disgrace after the murder but that did not stop him from enlisting to fight for Putin. He carefully planned the sniper-style strike on the Rostov-Tagenrog highway in southern Russia using a shotgun with special sights. After the car stopped, Kadetzky fired a Russian rifle at his son-in-law and ex-wife.

Yulia, worked in a law office, has a 15-year-old son, she died on the spot, while her father was seriously injured. A court ruled that it was a cold-blooded murder. He was released to fight for the Wagner Group, a private army run by Yevgeny Prigozhin, Putin’s friend-turned-billionaire close associate of the Kremlin president.

He added: “I think he will change his name, get a new passport.” The father says he checked records and found no evidence of a funeral. “I only see his medal, and no information about his death has appeared,” he said. “Where is the body? I checked in the village where his parents live. The body of this ‘hero’ should have been handed over and buried there. But there is no information. There was no funeral at all. So where is he?”.

He added: “Some people should not be released after committing such crimes. Imagine Kadetzky walking the streets and suddenly appearing, sticking out his tongue at me? How am I supposed to take it after the way he destroyed our family?”
