BOLZANO. The City of Bolzano will be able to build a new water tank, the third in the municipal area, with a capacity of approximately 5,000 cubic meters in the San Maurizio area and make it available to the city’s drinking water network. Today (July 2), Mayor Renzo Caramaschi and Seab President Kilian Bedin received confirmation that the project for the construction of a new drinking water tank, after being included in the National Plan for Infrastructure and Water Sector Safety Interventions, is among the works eligible for class C financing.
For the intervention, which has construction costs equal to 10.944.906 euroa funding of 10,884,906 euros was requested. The positive outcome of the project evaluation was officially communicated by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport. “The aim of the project – explain Caramaschi and Bedin – is to increase the water reserve for make up for the daily peaks ensuring adequate storage in the event of problems encountered in the city network”.
The new reservoir will be built in a central position with respect to the city, offering a total daily storage volume of 15,000.00 m3 of water for the entire municipal territory and thus also reducing the hydraulic vulnerability of the aqueduct.
