A new collective agreement for Arkia pilots

The Histadrut, Arkia management and the pilots’ committee signed a new collective agreement in the company. As part of the agreement, which will be in effect until the end of 2025, a series of economic terms were arranged that improve the pilots’ wages and the rate of social contributions for their wages.

Among other things, various salary supplements and various compensation mechanisms were arranged, such as: seniority supplement, examination supplement, training supplement, overseas simulator supplement, compensation for flight cancellation, compensation for spending a day and night in Eilat, and more.

Also in the agreement: the calculation formula for the time of international flights for the purpose of payment of hours was determined. Compensation for pilots aged +65, in light of the provisions of unique laws that apply to them. A mechanism for the professional promotion of the company’s pilots and for examining the company’s decisions on the matter. How the wet leases are managed by the company. How to plan the use of instructors or examiners in the simulator abroad and conduct periodic trainings. Beneficial payment regarding terms of employment such as: transportation, clothing, professional licenses, travel and expenses.

Chairman of the Histadrut Transportation Workers’ Union, Adv. Avi Adri: “This is another excellent agreement in a chain of agreements in the aviation industry, which reflect the recovery of the industry and with it the strengthening of the workers’ wages and employment conditions.”

Arkia chairman and CEO Gadi Teper: “This is another significant step for Arkia. We believe that the employment agreement, together with a merger with a public company, will allow Arkiye to grow and develop, equip itself with additional aircraft and expand the range of services provided to the company’s customers. I would like to personally thank the chairman of the union, Adv. Avi Adri, who ends his position at the end of the month, who accompanied the labor relations in the company for many years while maintaining the rights of the employees, while maintaining a business understanding and for the sake of maintaining the company and its growth in the Israeli aviation market.”

The CEO of Arkia International, Oz Berlovitz, who conducted the negotiations on behalf of the company, added: “We are concluding a long and complex negotiation that included long hours of discussions that resulted in an agreement that will allow Arkia to grow, expand and bring it to the forefront as the largest tourism and aviation company in Israel.”

The negotiations on behalf of the Histadrut were accompanied by the Director of the Air Division of the Transport Workers’ Union, attorney Keren Klaper, and the chairman of the national committee of Arkie Nitzan Ben-Ari.
