As the portal announces, this is a new pre-trial investigation.
Currently, another criminal case is being examined in the Kaunas District Court. The prosecutor‘s office is requesting that Exmer be found guilty of fraud, abuse, document falsification, and possession of a forged document, and be fined 35,000 euros.
Prosecutor Darius Valkavičius also requests that the court strip Exmer of his public rights, including the right to hold office for five years.
In the case brought by the prosecutor’s office, A. Vrubliauskas is accused of submitting forged documents between 2019 and 2022 to fraudulently obtain funding allocated for municipal council activities.
The prosecutor’s office alleges that A. Vrubliauskas falsified financial documents to receive approximately 20,000 euros in compensation for alleged expenses incurred as a municipal council member. He is accused of falsifying 16 accounts.
Driven by personal financial gain, the politician is accused of systematically falsifying documents related to fuel expenses that were actually incurred for his own activities.
After suspicions arose, A. Vrubliauskas suspended his membership in the Homeland Union-Lithuanian Christian Democrats party and was elected to the Alytus District Council. He served as the mayor of Alytus district from 1997 to 2023.
While the politician denies guilt, he has compensated the damage caused to the municipality.
