Ehe Radiodiagnosis Service of the Hospital Clínico San Carlos has incorporated a spectral computed tomography (CT) unit with the highest performance in this area of diagnostic imaging. This X-ray technique at two different energy levels is consolidated as the choice in the detection, characterization of lesions and reduction of artifacts in medical imaging tests, since it allows a better interpretation of the images and avoids complementary explorations, while achieves a significant reduction in radiation dose and the amount of contrast to patients.
