A new earthquake measuring 4.4 degrees in Kahramanmaraş, southern Turkey

A new 4.4-magnitude earthquake struck Oniki February district in Kahramanmaraş province, southern Turkey, according to the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Agency (AFAD).

The earthquake occurred at 10:40 GMT, at a depth of 7.52 km. There was no immediate information, according to Anadolu Agency, about loss of life or property.

On February 6, a double earthquake struck southern Turkey and northern Syria, the first measuring 7.7 degrees and the second measuring 7.6 degrees, followed by thousands of violent aftershocks. The earthquake caused great loss of life and property in both countries.

Yesterday, Monday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that the death toll from the double earthquake had risen to 46,104.
