A new dream simulation game uses the power of ChatGPT to recreate people’s dreams in 3D. A computer game called Project Electric Sheep AI uses OpenAI’s GPT-3 technology and people type in what they dreamed, then see the scene come to life around them.
According to the British newspaper “Daily Mail”, a voice asks, “What would you like to dream about?” Then the player writes in his choices and the game creates the world around him in a 3D image in seconds.
Users can navigate inside their dreams with a mouse and interact and talk to the people in their dreams.
Gaming companies are rushing to update games by using AI to do everything from creating in-game landscapes to creating “smart” characters, and gaming giant Ubisoft announced a new AI tool, Ghostwriter, that can automatically generate scripts for non-player characters (NPCs).
Project Electric Sheep may be intended as an art project, but it will be a big part of the future of gaming.
An unfinished version of Project Electric Sheep is available for free on PC via Steam Early Access, with an expected launch date in the second quarter of 2023.
