A new Israeli development to prevent collisions between cars and cyclists

The Israeli company Autotox has developed a new device designed to prevent accidents between cars and two-wheeled vehicles. The device is mounted on the handlebars of the bicycle or in the vehicle and will provide riders and drivers with warnings of dangerous proximity to other vehicles on the road.

The device was developed in collaboration with Volkswagen, Bosch and Commsignia, relies on V2X technology currently installed in some Volkswagen models in Europe, and enables locating vehicles on the road even in difficult visibility and weather conditions. The new development will allow for the first time the application of the technology also in bicycles, scooters and for pedestrians. The founder of the company, On Hearn, referred to the cooperation with the international companies. “This is not only a vote of confidence in Autotox’s pioneering V2X technology for two-wheeled vehicles,” he said, “but also a step in making the world even safer for vulnerable road users. This is good news for cyclists, who will be able to feel more confident on the road.”

The company will present the device tomorrow (Thursday) at the conference of the Secur organization, which will be held in France. Since its inception, Autotox has raised more than 150 million dollars. The company employs about 120 employees in Israel, Japan, Korea, Germany and France, and is currently recruiting additional employees.
