A low pressure area is likely to form over Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining Andaman Sea today (16th) due to the gyre over circulation over South Andaman Sea. It will move in west-northwest direction and may strengthen as a depression over South Bay of Bengal on 18th.

Due to this, light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning may occur at one or two places in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal today.
