The objective is to show his disagreement again, but far from the brutal confrontation that marked the rallies in Sainte-Soline. A new mobilization is planned against the mega basins, this Friday, from France Bleu Poitou. On the program, a “water convoy” which will head from Lezay, in Deux-Sèvres, to Paris. Each stage will be between 50 and 60 kilometers long, the first being in Jazeneuil, in Vienne.

Between 500 and 1,000 cyclists are expected on this route, accompanied by around ten to thirty tractors. They will pass near Sainte-Soline in order to “see the evolution of the site” but the demonstrators assure that they are in a logic of “bypassing” the police, while two demonstrators were seriously injured at the end of March. The authorities are also accused of having prevented relief from intervening.

A festive convoy

“We are not going to fall back into the traps that were set by the Darmanin government at the last demonstration in Sainte-Soline”, assures France Bleu Poitou the spokesperson for Bassines non merci, Julien Le Guet. The demonstrators will also go to Orleans, where the headquarters of the Loire-Brittany water agency is located, in the hope of “freezing all funding for basins”.

Declared in the various prefectures along the route, the “water convoy” is festive with music, workshops and film screenings. The Deux-Sèvres prefecture, however, considered that the file submitted was, for the time being, “incomplete”. The activists aim to reach Paris on August 26 and 27 after stops in Migné-Auxances and Coussay-le-Bois in the Vienne, Tours in the Indre-et-Loire, Blois in the Loir-et-Cher and Orléans in the Loiret.
