Sharjah – Sharjah Sky Adventures Paragliding Center has added new excitement to adventure tourism in UAE. Under the leadership of the Sharjah Investment Development Department (Shurooq), the first industrial licensed paragliding center has been set up in the UAE. The center will open its doors to guests from Monday after the Sharjah International Paragliding Championship to be held in the next few days.
This new resort is located in the central area of Sharjah near Al Fayya Retreat. Sky Adventures, which provides an opportunity to fly in the sky to see the beautiful desert views that are enough to fill the hearts of adventure travelers, is also expected to lead to many business and investment opportunities in the region.
The announcement of the new center was made in the presence of Sheikh Khalid bin Isam Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Department of Civil Aviation in Sharjah. His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Mualla, Shurooq Acting CEO HE Ahmed Ubaid Al Qaseer, HE Mohammed Yousaf Abdul Rahman, Emirates Aerosports Federation President HE Nasser Hamouda Al Neyadi, Federation Vice President HE Yousef Hassan Al Hammadi, Chairman Sharjah Tourism and Commerce Development Authority (SCTDA) Khalid Al Midfa and Sharjah Sports Council Chairman Isa Hilal Al Hazami were present at the event.
Sky Adventure currently has three packages and membership options that offer different levels of adventure experiences. The three packages are tandem paragliding with experienced professionals, a comprehensive expert-led course to learn how to paraglide on your own and obtain an international paragliding license, and guided flights for existing licensed paragliders.
Tandem paragliding provides an opportunity for those who have no experience in paragliding to see the sights. The flight will be accompanied by an expertly trained trainer. A buggy ride from the center through the desert to the take-off point nestled against the Al Faya Mountains offers many memorable moments for visitors. This package includes a 15-minute flight.
Sky Adventures also offers a four-day course for those who want to learn paragliding on their own. After three hours of expert training each day, there will be an opportunity to fly solo five times. Those who successfully complete the training can apply for an internationally recognized paragliding license. There is also a package for those who have a paragliding license to fly up to five thousand feet and increase their flying time. Those who are interested in paragliding on a regular basis will have membership facility in three categories namely one month, three months and one year.
