A new protest due to the lack of water in Kocherinovo briefly closed the road to the Rila Monastery today. This is what residents of the Kocherinovo village of Stob told BTA, at the junction for which the protest was held.

Locals are protesting against the systematic lack of water for households in the area. Today’s protest lasted about half an hour, and the road in the direction of the Rila Monastery was closed. In the reverse lane, traffic was allowed. The protest was also guarded by the police.

On several occasions, the locals have threatened to protest permanently until there is no solution to the problem. The greatly reduced flow of water sources is the reason for the introduction of a water regime on the territory of the municipality of Kocherinovo, Kyustendilska Voda reported earlier. For the city of Kocherinovo and the villages of Porominovo and Barakovo, water is supplied every day from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 a.m. In the villages of Dragodan and Borovets, water is supplied every two days, and in Krumovo and Buranovo every other day. For part of the villages, drinking water is supplied by water carriers.

Tomorrow there will be a protest because of the lack of water in Dupnitsa. It is organized by residents of Samoranovo village, Dupnitsa municipality.
