A new small earthquake felt this Thursday

It is not yet known whether the new tremors felt this Thursday morning at 7:38 a.m. in Charente-Maritime can be considered as an aftershock of the June 16 earthquake. The latter had caused a lot of damage, in particular in the La Laigne sector, but had been felt throughout the west of France. The magnitude of this new small earthquake is established at 2.1 on the Richter scale by the French seismological central office (BCSF Renass) and it concerns the same sector as the previous earthquake.

The first earthquake, with a magnitude between 5.3 and 5.8, caused no casualties but caused extensive damage, the cost of which was estimated at 290 million euros.
