A new Star Wars game on the way

by time news

Amy Henning, who wrote and directed the original game in Sony’s Uncharted series, returns to Star Wars with a new game she is creating in her latest studio, Skydance New Media. According to the announcement, this is a project with “cinematic richness”, an action and adventure game with an original plot that takes place in the popular science-fiction world.

The announcement does not include any further details, so it is not clear for which platforms the game is developed and when it is expected to come out. Even the name of the game has not yet been revealed, except for the very fact that it takes place as stated in the universe of the Star Wars series.

For Henning, this is a surprising return to the science fiction universe, after its name was previously associated with a failed Electronic Arts project that was also scheduled to take place in Star Wars. The same project lasted no less than five years, before the company decided to cancel it and virtually eliminate any trace of its existence.

Henning herself explains her attraction to the Star Wars universe in her childhood experiences. “The original Star Wars in 1977 redefined me, shaped my creative world and my future.” Also at Lucasfilm Games, the Star Wars Games Division, are excited to return and collaborate with Henning. “She and her team at Skydance New Media have the talent and desire to create a unique adventure.” It seems, then, that there is not really any resentment for her for that forgotten project from the previous decade.
