A New Step in the Fight for LGBT Rights in the US; Biden signs same-sex marriage law
Washington: Another crucial step in the struggle for the rights of the LGBTQ+ community in America. Gay rights were reaffirmed in the US when President Joe Biden signed the same-sex marriage law.
“This law, and the love it supports, is a blow against all forms of hatred. “That’s why this law is important to every American,” Biden said during a press conference at the White House after signing the bill.
The Respect for Marriage Act will safeguard the rights and protections to which LGBTQ+ and interracial couples and their children are entitled.

“Today is a good day. A day when America takes another decisive step toward equality, justice, and freedom.
It’s not just for the few, it’s for everyone. “It’s about building a country where pride, love and romance are accepted, respected and protected,” Biden added.

During the event, Vice President Kamala Harris spoke about officiating a lesbian wedding in San Francisco.
In addition to Kamala Harris, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Leader Chuck Schumer were also present at the bill signing ceremony on the South Lawn of the White House. The signing ceremony was held under the name Respect for Marriage Act.
Lawmakers from both the Democratic and Republican parties attended the event. The ceremony also reflected the growing acceptance of same-sex unions in the country.
Thousands of people attended the bill signing ceremony in Washington on Tuesday afternoon. Singers Sam Smith (Sam Smith) and Cyndi Lauper (Cyndi Lauper) were also in the program.

A video clip of Biden revealing his support for same-sex marriage during a televised interview ten years ago when he was vice president under Barack Obama was also played at the White House during the event. Later, President Obama also came out to accept same-sex marriages.
