They additionally secure the crash site

The black box and the documents for the flight in which Senior Lieutenant Ventsislav Dunkin and Major Petko Dimitrov died are now with the investigators. The Military Prosecutor’s Office and the Military Police conducted an additional inspection of the plane crash site today.

The fatal accident could be due to pilot error, technical malfunction, but also to incorrectly given commands. These are the three versions on which the investigators from the Plovdiv Military District Prosecutor’s Office are working. The found black box of the plane is relatively well preserved and the information from it is yet to be read. The investigation will be long, because of the complex examinations and the multitude of witnesses to be questioned.

From early in the morning, the investigative actions were resumed. An additional thorough inspection of the perimeter where the L-39 combat trainer crashed was carried out.

“The black box has been found and according to the military, who understand these things, it is relatively well preserved, maybe it will be read. These are preliminary data,” said Major Hristo Anchev, who is a prosecutor from the Military District Prosecutor’s Office.

There are three versions being worked on.

“Whether it’s a pilot error or a technical one, or incorrectly set commands, but from the command center – that will be established and we will establish it, but it will not be done quickly. If there is an error in the command, it is unlikely that they will fully cooperate with us, t ..if there is such a moment, we will have to establish it the hard way”, added Major Anchev.

Immediately after the crash, an unofficial version appeared among military aviators that the command post ordered Dunkin and Dimitrov to make several spectacular maneuvers and then land.

And the military made all cameramen and photographers delete the videos and footage of the crash that they had captured.

Witnesses are being questioned. All the documentation from the Graf Ignatievo Air Base related to the planning and execution of the flight has been seized and will be analyzed. Already yesterday, the technical documentation was seized from the air base in Dolna Mitropolia, where the downed plane was registered. As it turned out, it was renovated in the Czech Republic and returned to us at the end of June. Investigators will analyze all video footage of the serious incident.

“The military themselves from the formation have provided personnel, they will be included, they will be looked at, of course,” said Major Anchev.

The practice of investigating such aviation accidents shows that, due to the complexity of the examinations that must be carried out, it takes much more than two months, which is the legal deadline for completing investigative actions, writes BNT.

The place was further secured by the military today. There is no official word on whether critical infrastructure at the base has been affected and whether all military training and training flights have been cancelled.
