An expatriate woman who has been living in Kuwait illegally for 11 years was arrested when the security departments conducted an inspection at Al Mubarakiya market yesterday.

Kuwait City: Ministry of Interior officials announced that an expatriate woman who had been living illegally in Kuwait for 11 years was caught during the inspection. They were arrested as part of an investigation to find and take action against expatriates who have violated employment and residence laws in the country.
An expatriate woman who has been living in Kuwait illegally for 11 years was arrested when the security departments conducted an inspection at Al Mubarakiya market yesterday. They were absconding from the sponsor they were working with earlier. A case was also pending against them regarding this. 16 expatriate women were arrested last day during the inspection conducted in Abu Halifa. They were arrested when the authorities raided a health institute where massage services were provided. Officials added that these inspections are part of measures being taken to eliminate violations of labor laws in the country and prevent violation of public decency. Those arrested have been handed over to the concerned departments to take further action against them.

Kuwait court sentenced seven judges to prison in bribery case
Kuwait City: Seven judges in Kuwait sentenced to prison in corruption case. The appeal court bench presided over by Abdul Rahman Al Darami passed the sentence in the cases against the judges. Judges awarded prison terms ranging from seven years to 15 years, depending on the nature of the crime.

The order says to dismiss them from their jobs and confiscate their illegally acquired vehicles as gifts. At the same time, a judge who was on the defendant list in the case was also acquitted. Some others, including employees, have been sentenced to jail terms for various periods in similar cases. A businessman is also included in this group. The order also says that corrupt officials should be dismissed. But some accused were acquitted.
