A pediatrician was attacked a short time ago by the parents of a child in a children’s clinic at the Soroka Medical Center in Be’er Sheva. The hospital spokeswoman said that the parents physically and verbally assaulted the doctor, and he turned to the ER for medical treatment. His condition is mild.

A security team and the police stationed at the hospital were called to the scene. The parents were taken to the police for questioning.
The hospital’s management stated: “We strongly condemn incidents of violence against our employees. It is unacceptable for patients or their companions to attack staff members while they are providing dedicated and professional care. This is a serious phenomenon that demands that the law be meted out and as severe as possible with those who verbally or physically attack medical staff.” .
Health Minister Aryeh Deri responded to the attack on the doctor in “Soroka”: “As Minister of Health I am announcing: We will not allow incidents of violence against medical personnel to pass quietly. We are committed to maintaining the safety of the health system workers who save lives and work daily to protect public health.
