The OPPO Find X5 Pro It is one of the most interesting phones that we have tested so far in 2022. The terminal stands out in practically all aspects. Starting with the design, the technology company has created a distinctive stamp on the back of the device by grouping the cameras in such a way that They simulate the crater of a volcano. Since mobile phones have more than one objective and these stand out, manufacturers have sought ways to generate iconic designs highlighting the cameras, OPPO does just the opposite, hiding them by integrating them into the phone as a whole.
For this, it has used ceramic as a material for the back instead of glass, the most common in the high range. We were delighted with the result, shiny just like glass, scratch-proof, but unfortunately not fingerprint-proof.
Thanks to the use of another material, the finishes are more successful than in other terminals. The design is less angular and more rounded, which makes it more comfortable to hold. OPPO includes a silicone case in the package that does not do the terminal justice, but protects it from falls.
Good option for gamers
The screen is of great quality, without any curvature and 6.7 inches, LTPO 2 10-bit AMOLED with 1,140p resolution. The most interesting is found in the screen refresh rate, which can go from 1Hz to 120 Hz. This means that in moments when you need it, the speed at which the image changes on the screen will go up, like in games, but when viewing photos or reading texts it can go down a lot, saving the battery to the maximum.
Under the screen is the fingerprint sensor, which thanks to facial recognition to unlock the phone we have not had to use much, but it works like a charm. The screen, in short, is one of the best on the market, bright in the sun, and adapts perfectly to the use that we are giving it at all times.
The processor is a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, the latest from Qualcomm, the most powerful thing we are going to find on Android today. Both for games and for launching applications on a daily basis, the 12 GB of RAM and the 256 GB of storage are more than enough. Even gaming, with the processor at full power, we have not noticed that it got hot thanks to the cooling system with graphene of the Find X5 Pro. OPPO uses Color OS 12.1 on Android 12, a very effective customization layer that also makes the operating system go agile and without waiting, it is true that it comes with some pre-installed applications, but we can delete them without problem if we are not interested.
The cameras, another strength
The cameras are another of the strengths of the OPPO Find X5. The main lens has 50 megapixels, IMX766 sensor and 5-axis OIS stabilization instead of 4, which means that the lens frame also adapts to movements, improving the sharpness of images.
The other two lenses are a 50-megapixel wide-angle lens, and a 2x optical zoom telephoto lens. The front camera is 32 megapixels. Artificial intelligence is provided by the 6nm MariSilicon processor, responsible for allowing video and photo recording in low light conditions, in fact, the OPPO Find X5 is the first capable of recording high resolution video at night with quite good sharpness, being the most remarkable feature of the camera. OPPO has added the Hasselblad features that we already saw in the OnePlus 9 Pro. They’re kind of hidden under ‘other options’, where we can get a panoramic art mode, which can be a lot of fun to use.
The wide angle works perfectly, and gives very good results considering that it does not have stabilization. The telephoto lens with a 2x optical magnification has known us little, those 10x of the OPPO terminals of a few years ago have been far away, although it has little zoom, it is fully functional and can be used to take a specific photo.
Another feature that makes this phone interesting is its 5,000 mAh battery and 80w Supervooc charging and 50w wireless. The autonomy is greater than a day and the mobile can be charged in just 30 minutes. However, in this case we are also talking about the first mobile with BHE or battery health engine, which makes it withstand twice as many cycles without degrading. Any mobile phone from 800 charges its battery is no longer considered in good condition, the OPPO Find X5 supports 1,600 charges, which means that it will last without wear for about 6 years, compared to 3 of the other phones. At least, that is what they promise from technology.
In short, OPPO Find X5 Pro is, if the budget is not a problem, because the price is around 1,299 euros, one of the best phones on the market, with a unique design, innovation in abundance, power and a great camera, little more can you ask for in a phone. In addition, we must bear in mind that, on paper, it should age better than other terminals thanks to its battery, which will last twice as long as the rest as new.
