The Agricultural Police Service renewed its call on citizens to be vigilant against a predatory animal wandering around the city of Masalata, calling for them to quickly report it when they see it.
The agency reported that it has been conducting daily patrols since last Friday to search for the predatory animal in cooperation with the Criminal Investigation and Internal Security agencies, noting that last night it combed the valleys and forests surrounding the city of Masalata in a search operation that continued until late hours, without finding it.
The head of the Agricultural Police Station, Maslata Branch, “Amr Al-Ghattas,” told Libya Al-Ahrar that they had not received any report from the owner of the predatory animal, pointing out that 5 citizens filed reports and opened reports at police stations after they saw this animal.
Al-Ghattas added that the descriptions spoken by citizens and the existing antiquities suggest that the predatory animal is a “cheetah” and not a leopard as is rumored, explaining that they were unable to photograph it due to the state of fear and the speed of its escape.
According to the Agricultural Police Service, a woman in the “Amamra” area was the last to report the predatory animal after seeing it, and members of the agency found traces of it in the saffron forest in the city of Masalata.
