The Union of Composers of Azerbaijan hosted a presentation of a new project of the creative organization dedicated to the founder of Azerbaijani professional music Uzeir Hajibeyli, Day.Az reported on Thursday.
The book brought to the attention of musicians and music lovers is a collection of selected scientific articles compiled on the basis of reports that were presented at musicological conferences held by the Union of Composers within the framework of the annual International Music Festival of Uzeyir Hajibeyli. This book project, the initiator, leader and author of the introductory article of which is the Chairman of the Union of Composers, People’s Artist, Corresponding Member of ANAS, Professor Frangiz Alizadeh, includes 17 extensive scientific publications in which the authors present their research from the perspective of today and the latest data a look at the creative heritage of the great classic.
Opening the presentation with an introductory speech, Frangiz Alizade noted that “The Union of Composers has invariably, for 15 years, taken an active part in the work of the traditional International Music Festival of Uzeyir Hajibeyli, organizing chamber music concerts, meetings with foreign guests, as well as scientific conferences. For these Over the years, we have accumulated a lot of valuable research material, interestingly representing various facets of the creativity and activity of Uzeyir Hajibeyli, as well as his colleague and friend Muslim Magomayev. Based on this, the idea was born to publish the most interesting and relevant reports in the form of a collection of scientific articles, which we have today. We hope that the book will be of interest to both professionals and amateurs of musical art, and will also become another valuable source for studying the history of national academic music.”
The presentation was also attended by the Secretary of the Union of Composers, Honored Artist, Professor Zemfira Gafarova, Honored Artist, Vice-Rector of the Baku Music Academy. U. Hajibeyli, Professor Gulnaz Abdullazade, Honored Artist, Doctor of Philosophy in Art History, Professor Kamilya Dadashzade, scientific editor of the book, Doctor of Philosophy in Art History, Associate Professor Gunay Mammadova and editor, Doctor of Philosophy in Art History, Associate Professor Aytyan Babayeva. All speakers noted the importance of this publication, which makes a new contribution to Uzeiology.
The musical part of the event featured the immortal works of Uzeyir Hajibeyli – Nigar’s aria and Korogly’s aria from the opera “Korogly”, Gulchohra’s aria and Asker’s song from the operetta “Arshin Mal Alan”, the romance-ghazal “Sensiz” (arranged for piano by G. Burshtein). People’s Artists of the Republic Gulnaz Ismailova (soprano) and Ulviya Gadzhibekova (piano), Honored Artist Farid Aliyev (tenor), Gulnaz Eldarli, Gunel Ragimova (piano) took part in the performance of these compositions.
