A prisoner who tried to escape was shot at – the information released by the police..!

The suspect was killed in a gunfight with a man who tried to escape from the Kegalle jail.

The police said that the suspect, who was involved in cooking, escaped from the jail early today (08).

The suspect, who was injured in the firing by the officer who was on security duty, died after being admitted to the Kegalle hospital.

According to the police, a 35-year-old man from Melsiripura area has died.

Also, the police said that only one of the suspects, who was under custody in connection with the maintenance case, died in the shooting.
