Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan are developing a project to export Kazakhstan’s “green” energy through the territory of Azerbaijan.

As reported on Tuesday by Day.Az with reference to Trend, this was stated by the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan Alim Bayel at the Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan tourism forum organized in the embassy building.

“A project is being developed to export Kazakhstan’s “green” energy through the territory of Azerbaijan,” the ambassador emphasized.

According to the ambassador, mutually beneficial close trade and economic cooperation has been established between the countries.

At the same time, Alim Bayel noted joint projects that play an important role not only for the two countries, but also for the entire region (in particular, the importance of the Middle Corridor).

The Ambassador also touched upon cooperation in the field of tourism and presented statistical data.

“Last year, 58,000 Kazakh tourists visited Azerbaijan. Over the period from January to June 2024, more than 38,000 Kazakh tourists visited Azerbaijan. In general, in terms of the growth dynamics of tourist flow to Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan is in third place after China and India,” he added.

Let us recall that on May 1 in Tashkent, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on the integration of energy systems, based on the export of “green” energy from these countries to Europe via the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia, the Black Sea to Romania, Hungary and further, if possible, to other EU countries.
