/ Informed Syrian sources reported, on Monday, the killing of an Iranian Revolutionary Guard official, Mohammad Reza Zahedi, and 5 other people.

The sources told Agency, “The raid that took place in Damascus targeted a building adjacent to the Iranian embassy building, which belongs to it, and it is believed to be the residence of the Iranian ambassador himself.”

The sources explained that “preliminary information indicates the killing of the senior advisor in the Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, Mohammad Reza Zahedi, along with 5 other people.”

According to preliminary information, the raid apparently targeted a meeting between Zahedi and leaders of the Islamic Jihad movement in Palestine.

On Monday, reports from Syria reported that explosions were heard in the vicinity of the capital, Damascus, amid reports that a building adjacent to the Iranian embassy had been targeted.

The Syrian news agency, SANA, reported that “an explosion was heard in the vicinity of Damascus,” explaining that “the explosions occurred in the Mezzeh area in Damascus, and the Syrian air defenses were confronting hostile targets.”

In this context, other sources indicated that “a building adjacent to the Iranian embassy was targeted.”
