A psychologist made homophobic attacks against employees of a restaurant in the Museum of Tomorrow, in downtown Rio de Janeiro, and attacked the chef of the establishment with a glass bottle.

Juliana de Almeida César Machado, 45, was taken to the police station and will face charges for a homophobic hate crime, another for injuries and threats.

The incident occurred on Saturday (27), the day Juliana celebrated her birthday. She was accompanied by her parents at the Casa do Saulo restaurant and, according to witnesses, during the meal she had drunk two bottles of wine.

At the end of lunch, after getting excited during a discussion at the table, the psychologist began to insult the workers at the establishment, who asked her to leave.

The Museum of Tomorrow published a statement against homophobia after the attack committed by Juliana. Her family warns that she will not comment on what happened and that there is a lawyer handling the legal process.
