The prefecture has decided to ban the gathering of Nationalists because of the “risks of words or gestures contrary to the laws of the Republic”.

By MP with AFP “Meet in Paris around the figure of chef Pierre Sidos for the three years of his disappearance”, had launched on his Instagram account the far-right group. The Paris police headquarters has banned a rally scheduled for Saturday morning in Thiais (Val-de-Marne), at the initiative of the Les Nationalistes movement, in tribute to Pierre Sidos, a figure of the far right Pétainiste, who died in 2020. “The prefect of police prohibits a rally of the Les Nationalistes movement announced by social networks for Saturday September 2 at the cemetery of #Thiais (94)”, announced the PP on X (formerly Twitter). “The lack of authorization from the city of Paris and the risk of words or actions contrary to the laws of the Republic justify this ban,” she added.

Leader of an anti-Semitic movement

“Meet in Paris around the figure of chef Pierre Sidos for the three years of his disappearance”, had launched on his Instagram account the far-right group. The call had also been relayed on X by its president, Yvan Benedetti, a far-right figure, condemned on multiple occasions by the courts, in particular for Holocaust denial.

Pierre Sidos was the founder of the Jeune Nation movement and then of L’Œuvre française. Yvan Benedetti had succeeded him at the head of L’Œuvre française before the dissolution in 2013 of this openly anti-Semitic movement in the wake of the death in Paris of the far-left activist Clément Méric during a fight with small groups of extreme RIGHT.
