Have you gone to buy bread this afternoon and haven’t been able to pay with your card or mobile phone? Just know that you haven’t been the only one. Furthermore, the problem has affected all of Spain. And a computer crash of the Redsys payment platform, which supports payments from credit and debit cards and acts as an intermediary between the buyer and the bank, has affected all bank payment systems throughout Spain.
This is apparently an incident generated at 1:10 p.m. in the RedSys service, which affects ATMs, dataphones, payments in stores or even the bizum service.
The problem, which lasted about two hours, has already been resolved and transactions can be carried out without problem, as confirmed by banking sources, as confirmed by the platform itself.
We inform you that the payment service degradations of the last hour, exclusively linked to internal communication lines, have been resolved.

A widespread issue in payment processing has affected Bizum’s operations and you may not have been able to use our services normally. We inform you that all service is now fully restored. Thank you very much, bizumer.

The drop occurs just six days before Black Friday and just over a month before the Christmas holidays arrive, where purchases register a considerable increase, many of them paid for through digital means like these.
