An Arab suspect, a resident of East Jerusalem who planned to assassinate Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gabir, was arrested a few weeks ago by the police and with the close cooperation of the Shin Bet. The suspect gathered intelligence on Minister Ben Gabir and his movement patterns and his investigation revealed that he met with terrorist elements from a neighboring country And he received from them funds that would assist him in carrying out the attack and also – in transferring funds to the families of prisoners.
His investigation also reveals that the suspect planned to steal police license plates so that he could approach the minister’s convoy and attack it in the Temple Mount area. The investigation also shows that the terrorist intended to carry out another attack after the attack on flesh, in which he intended to kidnap a body in order to negotiate and bargain.
