The cost of the health facility, too expensive for the couple’s finances, is the main cause of this problem. The couple earns, together, 2,900 euros per month. The nursing home “costs 2,500 euros and the current expenses of the house, that is to say mutual insurance, insurance, water and electricity, mean that I have 200 euros left to live on. », Explains the octogenarian to the news channel.
Looking for an apartment
With the bills piling up, Marc “comes to terms” with a situation that is “a little confusing”. If the retiree lives alone at the moment, the house has been part of the family for several years. “A whole bunch of memories will leave here,” admits the retiree. The retiree’s goal now is to find an apartment to be able to finance his wife’s medical room. But its mission promises to be complicated in the face of high rent prices and the real estate market.
