The Capital Market, Insurance and Savings Authority is updating today (Sunday) on the implementation of several amendments to the provisions of the health insurance reform and the postponement of its entry into force by three months, to May 1, 2023. In addition, the Authority, in cooperation with the National Digital System, is upgrading the health insurance area on the “Insurance Mountain” website . The upgrade will make it possible to view data about the cost and extent of the insurance coverage available to the insured and will for the first time include a reference to the coverage available in the health insurance funds.

The Capital Market Authority continues to operate with the aim of improving health insurance products, through the adjustment and refinement of the health insurance reform, and at the same time works to make technological tools available that will allow the insured public to make an informed decision regarding the existing coverage in their health insurance.

Today (Wednesday) the Authority announced several updates to the provisions of the health insurance reform that is expected to enter into force soon. The structure of the surgery policy will be changed so that policyholders will be entitled to receive compensation for deductibles paid within the Shaban, in certain cases. In addition, the Authority will allow insurance companies to offer coverage for medical cannabis as part of the extension to the basic policy, to ensure a cheap and accessible basic policy for difficult medical cases. The upgraded health insurance area is another layer in the authority’s operations to make information accessible to the insured in a convenient and clear way, using objective and easy-to-use tools.

The upgrade of the health insurance area on the “Insurance Mountain” website is the result of cooperation between the Capital Market Authority, Insurance and Savings, the National Digital System and the Ministry of Health. In the upgraded health insurance area in the “Insurance Mountain” the insured can receive information regarding all the insurances available to him, their cost, nature and scope of coverage. Next to the coverages provided through insurance companies, there are also the insurance coverages provided as part of the additional health services of the health funds. In addition to receiving information regarding the personal insurance portfolio, it will be possible to compare the insurance prices available in the companies active in the market.

The combination of these two important steps is expected to strengthen the power of the insured and allow them to choose the best and most suitable insurance coverage for them.”
