A roadmap was defined for the strengthening of health establishments in Imbabura and Carchi – Ministry of Public Health

Carmen Guerrero, Comprehensive Vice Minister of the Ministry of Public Health (MSP) visited several health facilities, including: Luis G. Dávila Hospital, Health Center #1 Tulcán, Huaca Health Center in Carchi and the Basic Hospital in Imbabura Otavalo, San Vicente de Paul, Center # 1 Ibarra, San Pablo and Priory. The tour she did together with Carlos Villalba, Zonal 1 coordinator and technical team of the State portfolio.

The vice minister verified the quality of care, infrastructure, human talent, provision of medicines and supplies; as well as the progress of malnutrition, health promotion and prevention projects aimed at the population.

The health authority congratulated the work being carried out by health professionals. “The general diagnosis is quite positive, there are many opportunities for improvement and innovations in which we can contribute at a national and regional level.” In addition, he stressed the support and commitment of the Ministry of Public Health and the National Government to strengthen the work in each of the country’s health units.

“In this technical visit, monitoring, follow-up, accompaniment and support to the establishments and their officials were carried out to strengthen the provision of services to users. The needs were evident, to improve for the benefit of the population”, said Carlos Villalba.

For his part, Andrés Puetate, manager of the Tulcán hospital, assured that “important requirements have been identified both in terms of human talent, investment resources for infrastructure and medicines. We know that we have the support and efforts of the national and government levels to meet the needs of the community”, he concluded.
