A Samsung official reveals the launch date of the Galaxy S23

Leaks continue about the new generation of Samsung’s flagship phones, the Galaxy S23, which is scheduled to be launched next year 2023, and today an official from within the company revealed the exact date for the official unveiling of the phone.

Samsung used to launch the new generation of Galaxy S series phones in the first quarter of each year, the S22 family was revealed on February 9, the S21 generation on January 14, and the S20 generation on February 11.

According to the South Korean newspaper ChoSun, citing an official inside Samsung Mobile, there are no changes in the company’s plans about the launch dates of the next generation of the Galaxy S series for the year 2023.

He stressed that the idea is that Samsung will hold a press event in San Francisco in the first week of February (ie between January 30 to February 5), and that the company will then, as it has in past years, receive pre-booking requests over a period of two weeks from the date event, and the first shipment date is set to fall on a Friday.

He added that the company is also taking into account the contraction in sales of the smartphone market, which analysts expect to continue into the next year. Ford said this prompted Samsung to launch the new generation of its flagship S series earlier in the new year rather than later.

Connecting the Samsung official’s speech to the calendar, February 17 should be the Friday when the first orders for the Galaxy S23 phones will be shipped.

It is worth noting that the shipping dates for phones of the new generations of the Galaxy S series have changed years ago, the company used to start shipping in March, but changing market conditions decided the South Korean company to expedite the delivery of pre-booking requests to users.

This makes it quicker to respond with the time for the phones to reach users soon after revealing at a press event, and also to help with marketing in the face of tough competition with other companies.

The third reason is to give the new generation of flagship phones more time to consolidate the financial statements for the first quarter of the new year.
