The month of July is well advanced, as are the summer holidays. Bison smart announces another red Saturday in the sense of departures for the weekend.

The crossover of the weekend of August 15 caused nearly 320 km of traffic jams this day at 2 p.m. on the road network after a peak of nearly 440 km of detentions at 12:30 p.m., traffic being particularly dense in the Rhone valley and in the direction of Spain. © JEFF PACHOUD / AFP Published on 07/21/2023 at 3:30 p.m.

There will still be people on the road this Saturday, July 22. Smart Bison rated the day red on major traffic routes, especially southbound. Even holidaymakers who anticipate leaving on Friday will not escape traffic jams.

In Île-de-France, the influx of holidaymakers to the tolls of the A10 and the A6 will be important from this Friday, when the first traffic jams should form. The slowdowns will continue all day Saturday. For this day, Bison futé suggests leaving or crossing Île-de-France before 6 a.m.

The A7 between Lyon and Marseille should concentrate many slowdowns on Saturday, especially on the Lyon-Orange axis, which Bison Futé recommends avoiding all day, “especially from 9 am to 7 pm”. Heavy traffic is also expected towards Italy via the Mont-Blanc tunnel throughout the weekend.

The A13 motorway, between the Paris region and Normandy, may also experience traffic difficulties on Saturday late morning (10 a.m. to 1 p.m.). In the direction of returns, traffic will remain usual from Friday to Sunday, in green at the national level.
