Balarama and Kannan incarnated as Devaki Prati’s seventh and eighth child respectively. Elders say that after Balarama, the elder of the Nambi, cast his feet in this world, Kannan was able to safely enter this world.
Similarly, here also one uttama became tirvadri before another uttama became dhiruvadri. That itself became like the rising of Aruna before the rising of the sun.
In the month of Puratasi, in the Punarvasu Nakshatra, the beautiful Varadhar was born. He took the Tiruvatri before the Manavala mamunis did Tiruvatri. This beautiful Varadar became his disciple when he was standing as Kruhastarai for Manavala mamunis. He was also the first disciple of Manavala mamunis. He received trithandam and kashaya from Lord Vanamamalai, accepted sannyasachram, took the name “Vanamamalai Ramanuja Jeeyar” and stayed for a long time with the Manavala Mamunis and performed Kaingaryam.
Elders call his Thiruvadis as “Sembol Kahaladi”.
He was given the title of “Ponnadikal Jeeyar” because he was the first step to the great discipleship of Mamunis.
“Due to his first step, one day Namperumal also became a disciple of Manavala Mamuni”.
Just as Balarama took birth before him to enslave Kannan, so he also took birth before him to enslave the Manavala mamunis.
He was adored as his patreka because he always used to do the same to the bridegrooms.
In Thiruvaranga, the traces of Vyakyanas written by gunavalas to preserve Tiruvaimozhi were largely destroyed by foreign invasion.
Manavala mamunis, he searched wherever there were remaining straws and collected them. He kept the rich collection of Vyakyanas in one place. He read them all himself and corrected the corrupted texts. He made many copies with experts in handwriting.
For Tiruvaimozhi, the traces of Vyakyans by Periyavachan Pillai have mostly been sold. He wrote the translated parts himself. He preserved other scriptures himself. Manavala mamunis used to preach the grace of grace to the servants themselves every day of the world.
He himself mentions this in Arti Prabandham.

Vanamamalai Jeyar helped Manavala Mamuni in many ways to do all these things. If it were not for these two, we would not have received the goods of grace!
Manavala mamunis were appointed to give to Vanamamalai Jiya the upandanta of the trident, which the Manavala mamunis had worn on their tirukai, the Thiruvazhi ring in the thirukai, and the Thiruvadi positions of Thiruvaimozhipillai to Vanamamalai Jiya, Jiya Nayanar, the tirupera of Manavala mamunis, presented them to Vanamamalai Jiya.
At the Thiruvarangam Periyajeeyar Mutt, Vanamamalai Jeya himself installed the portraits of the Manavala Mamunis.
Even today, in the Vanamamalai Jeera Thirumadam, we can enjoy the Thiruvazhi Motiram, Upadantham and Thiruvadi positions of the Manavala Mamunis.
Such proud Vanamamalai Jeera Swamis maintain the darshan of Emperumanar even today.
We will sing for their Thiruvadithamarai for many years.
Varamangai Mamuni is another century.
