Since Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022, a second, less visible war has been waged alongside the physical battle.

It is a cyber war, involving hacker groups on both sides of the dispute. The aim is to cause chaos by taking down websites or infrastructure systems, stealing private data or “hijacking” radio transmissions, for example.
