Parity and LGBT people at the first hip-hop convention

L2P Convention at La Place, Paris 1st.  From March 8 to 11.

Hip-hop culture did not yet have its own convention, which, like the MaMA Festival for contemporary music, brings together professionals and the public. The L2P Convention, which is held at La Place, in Les Halles, has found its cruising speed this year. From its opening, on March 8, at 4 p.m., it offers very targeted and free conferences, “Everyone wants to break through, what possible jobs in rap in 2023? or even on March 11, at 2:30 p.m., “Rap and justice, freedom of expression under protection and under surveillance”.

As parity is in order at La Place, a hip-hop cultural center partly funded by the City of Paris, the master classes are alternately devoted to the boss of the Epic record company, Pauline Duarte, and to the rap boss French since the release of the record The Princes of the City in 2000, Rim-K. The convention is also open to LGBT people with a conference on their construction in the world of hip-hop dance. More than thirty conferences are scheduled as well as concerts such as the first appearance on stage of the rappers of the compilation produced by A2H, bringing together young artists Angie, Anglade, Ash to the Eye, Beeby. A symphonic tale tinged with environmentalism

“The Island of Never Too Late”, National Theater of Brittany, in Rennes, on March 10, and at La Seine Musicale in Boulogne-Billancourt, on March 12.

Creation intended for young audiences with the aim of raising awareness of the issue of global warming, The Island of Never Too Late is based on a story conceived by Stéphane Michaka and takes the form of a symphonic tale developed in two dimensions.

A musical dimension, with the presence of pianist Vanessa Wagner at the heart of a score commissioned by the Orchester National de Bretagne from Sarah Lianne Lewis, a young Welsh composer, and conducted by her compatriot Grant Llewellyn. And a dramatic dimension, with the intervention of a narrator, Céline Milliat-Baumgartner, in the staging by Julie-Anne Roth.
