The symposium was held under the title “Promotion of Arabic Content in News Agencies of Non-Arabic Organizations of Islamic Cooperation Countries,” and focused on non-Arabic speaking news agencies. Arabic available on their news platforms, are: Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Turkey, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia and Chad.
The Secretary General of the King Salman International Academy for the Arabic Language, Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Washmi, confirmed during the symposium that the Academy aims to organize this symposium to achieve its goals of enriching Arabic content in various media , which contributes to motivation. and support Arabic content producers and raise their scientific and media level.
During his speech, Muhammad bin Abd Rabbuh Al-Yami, Director General of the Federation of News Agencies of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, said, “Member news agencies in non-Arabic speaking Islamic countries were eager to create Arabic departments. in their agencies and launch pages with Arabic content on their digital platforms, with the aim of providing a source for… Reliable information about their countries for readers in Arabic, which would build bridges of cooperation and establish them on strong cultural foundations and information communication.”
He expressed his hope that this symposium would be a starting point for further programs in the field of improving Arabic content in the news agencies of Islamic countries.
The virtual symposium was held with two specialized discussion sessions, the first titled: “Challenges of the Arabic Content in the News Agencies of the Non-Arabic Speaking Organization of Islamic Cooperation Countries,” and the second titled: “The Vision of King Salman International Academy for Arabic to Improve the Content of Non-Arabic Spoken News Agencies,” and reviewed The two sessions discussed mechanisms and programs that contribute to language development, and discussed the challenges facing the relevant news agencies and the best ways and solutions better to overcome them. . To arrive at a systematic vision that contributes practically to the design of institutional language rehabilitation programs and plans and to address the challenges associated with the use of the Arabic language for news and media purposes.
At the end of its work, the symposium issued several recommendations, including working to increase Arabic content in the international media, especially news agencies, given the importance of the media in spreading languages, supporting the presence of the language Arabic in the digital space, and cooperation between the Academy and the Union in organizing forums. Support its presence in news agencies of non-Arabic Islamic countries.
The recommendations also included the establishment of training programs in the field of the use of the Arabic language for media purposes, with the design of programs and plans that improve the presence of Arabic in news agencies and the development of Arabic media content in various areas, i.e. in addition to investment in intelligence techniques improve artificial and linguistic blogs in a way that helps support Arabic content in News agencies of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation countries.
The Academy said that the organization of the symposium confirms its strategic role in serving the Arabic language, supporting initiatives and projects related to teaching non-native speakers, expanding the bridges of collaboration between it and institutions involved in the teaching of Arabic such as second language locally and globally, emphasizing. its value that expresses the depth of language, and complement the efforts it seeks to achieve By strengthening its partnership with non-Arabic news agencies of the OIC member states, and contributing to the quality of their employees in the fields of editing, linguistic checking , and the use of the Arabic Arabic language for media purposes and the implementation of many training programs that enhance the quality of employees of news agencies in non-Arabic speaking member states of the organization.
