A shooting at a university in Michigan (USA) left at least three dead and five wounded on the night of this Monday, as alerted by local authorities. The suspect in the attack, a man of “short stature” and “wearing a mask”, has not been arrested yetreported the Michigan State University Police on their Twitter account.

Authorities asked students and workers on the campus, where attacks were reported in at least two buildings, to take shelter while the situation is controlled.

“There are at least five victims, all of whom were transported to a local hospital and several of whom have life-threatening injuries,” University Police Sheriff Chris Rozman said at a news conference. “The information out there so far is preliminary and our priority is campus and student safety,” he added.

On their Twitter account, the university police confirmed that the attack left at least three dead and five injured.

State Governor Gretchen Whitmer said she was alerted to the situation. “Police officers and first responders are already in the area,” the policy wrote on her Twitter account.

The university, located in the city of East Lansing, is one of the largest in the country, with more than 50,000 students.
