With defense for a seminar and attacking versatility, Vikos Falcons put on a show of strength against Trikala Basket in the first game of the promotion playoffs in the Elite League and showed that it has all the ingredients to qualify for the next stage in Saturday’s game in Trikala.
The 90-63 final is indicative of the power difference between the two teams, with the Vikos Falcons in control throughout the game and the visitors… making the mistake of going down by nine points late in the third quarter. The reduction of the difference worked as a bell, with the team of Kostas Delegkos raising the stakes and scattering Trikala Basket.
The top scorer for the Ioannina team was Thodoris Tsiloulis with 20 points, Spyridonidis had 14, while Anagnostakis was also in double figures with 11 and Ivosev with 10. Papadakis deserves a special mention, who scored 8 points, but stood out for his energy in his defense and passion. Among the guests, Anagnostopoulos stood out with 19 points. The only minus for Vikos’ team is the several missed shots.
