On the stage of the Azerbaijan State Academic Philharmonic named after Muslim Magomayev, a concert was held dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding Azerbaijani composer, famous conductor and teacher, State Prize laureate, People’s Artist Suleyman Aleskerov, Day.Az reports.
First, academician, director of the National Museum of Azerbaijani Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi Rafael Huseynov told those present about the life and work of composer Suleyman Aleskerov.
It was noted that the composer wrote two operas, twelve operettas, two symphonies, a symphonic mugham “Bayaty-Shiraz”, overtures for a symphony orchestra, two symphonic poems, six cantatas, works in various genres for choir and orchestra of folk instruments and about 200 songs and romances. He is also the author of many musical compositions for documentaries and the feature film “Ulduz”, filmed in 1964.
The next word was music. Azerbaijan State Orchestra of Folk Instruments under the direction of People’s Artist Agaverdi Pashaev, soloists – People’s Artists Samir Jafarov, Elshan Mansurov, Honored Artists Almaz Orujeva, Anar Shushaly, Ramil Gasimov, Ashug Samira, Arzu Aliyeva, Chinara Heydarova, laureates of republican and international competitions performed at the evening. Sabina Arabli, Kamila Nabieva, Bahruz Zeynalov, Hikmet Gasimov, Elshad Shikhaliev.
The works of Suleiman Aleskerov were presented to the attention of the audience. The musical evening was very emotional, filling the audience’s hearts with beautiful music.
