Thiruvananthapuram – Shilpi (27) of Akash Bhawan, Puruthipara Colony, Aryan Nadu, accused in the case of tying up a 16-year-old girl and brutally torturing her, has been sentenced to 49 years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 86,000.
If the fine is not paid, the fast-track special court also ruled that he should be sentenced to two-and-a-half years more. The fine should be paid to the child victim. The case is that on the morning of August 3, 2021, the accused entered the house and tortured the child. On September 24, she was raped again in the bathroom outside the house.
The child did not tell anyone because of fear. She came to know that she was pregnant when she was admitted to the hospital with abdominal pain. Then the Aryanad police took up the case.
