A Spanish health worker leads the ranking of reinfections by the fastest SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus documented to date. Only 20 days after having Covid with the Delta variant, he was reinfected with the Omicron variant.

Spanish researchers present the case of a 31-year-old woman who was infected with Covid-19 twice in three weeks at the European Congress of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ECCMID). Until now, most articles talked about 30 days in the fastest cases of reinfection, the researchers point out, “but this is constantly being updated.”

The woman, whose data remains anonymous, tested positive for the first time on December 20, 2021, in a PCR test carried out during the screening of personnel in their workplace.
