Russia declared a state of emergency in a region of the Voronezh region bordering Ukraine after a midnight drone attack, the local governor Alexander Gusev announced today on his channel on the Telegram social network, quoted by the agencies, BTA reported.

According to him, Russian forces have intercepted five drones. Falling debris caused a fire that led to the detonation of explosive objects.

No civilian buildings were damaged, but authorities had to impose emergency measures in three settlements in the Ostrogozh region and evacuate 200 people, he said.

“Due to the liquidation of the consequences of the fire and the detonation of explosive objects in the Ostrogozh region, a state of emergency has been introduced on the territory of three settlements. A total of about 200 people have been evacuated,” including the residents of one village, Gusev pointed out. “A point for temporary accommodation has been set aside, but almost all residents have gone to their relatives. Those living in the neighboring village have been briefed on security measures,” added the governor of Russia’s Voronezh region.
